Film workshop + International Children's Film Festival

On Saturday 2 April, Dutch filmmaker Lidi Toepoel and Dennis de Bakker visited our school where they gave two wonderful workshops about "Vlogging" (making short movies). It was a great success and the students from our group 8 (10-12 years old) made beautiful movie: https://youtu.be/2NgJ7X89pnU.

Lidi Toepoel is a Dutch film director, whose latest short film ‘Zoentjesdief’, ranked among the top 3 at the Dutch Cinekid Film Festival, in the category “Best Dutch Short Film”. The film also reached top ranks at many international children’s festival across the world, including Japan, Italy, China, Germany, Russie, India, France and the US. Lidi’s ervaring met haar eigen dementerende oma inspireerde Zoentjesdief (Stolen kisses). Het is vanuit het oogpunt van een kind, die leert omgaan met haar oma die steeds vergeetachtiger wordt. After the workshop it was time for a fun potluck. We then headed out to the Los Angeles International Children's Film Festival for the short movie Zoentjesdief and the Q & A from Lidi Toepoel in the Anaheim Convention Center.  The film was part of the event WonderCon.  

What an amazing day. Hopefully Lidi and Dennis will come again in het future!
