Seal of Biliteracy, Pathways to Biliteracy
An official seal
High School - Seal of Biliteracy
High school students can qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy in California and over 40 other US states with a Certificate in Dutch as a Foreign Language (CNaVT). A minimum level of B1 or sometimes B2 is required, depending on the school district. Once the Seal of Biliteracy has been obtained on the High School diploma, students may be eligible for credits if they decide to continue their studies at a US college. More information on the Certificate of Dutch as a Foreign Language (CNaVT) can be found here. The exam of the CNaVT (at B1 or B2 level) is equivalent to an AP, but it depends on the school district if they accept it.
Our school gives online group lessons for secondary education and prepares the students for the exam of the CNaVT. These exams take place in May at our school locations. Private lessons are also an option to prepare your child(ren) for the CNaVT.
